This competition is open to all musicians grades 9-12 within a 300-mile radius of Charleston, W.Va. 



First Prize: $1000, a performance with the
West Virginia State Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by
Dr. Scott Woodard, May 11, 2021, a radio interview with
Matt Jackfert on WV Public Broadcasting



Awarded at the discretion of the adjudicating committee:
Second Prize: $500 
Third Prize: $250

 

Concerto:
Choose one movement of any Classical, Romantic, or major 20th-21st century concerto for your instrument

 

Entry Procedures/Application:
Contestants must submit a non-refundable $50 entry fee (checks made payable to WVSU Foundation or online at connect.wvstateu.edu/WVSU-Concerto with the attached application)
