Dear Alumni and Friends,
As we celebrate West Virginia State’s rich history in this, our 125th year, we look toward the future and welcome our 11th president – Dr. Anthony L. Jenkins. I hope you are making plans to return to campus and be a part of the Homecoming Celebration scheduled for September 29 – October 1, 2016.
Homecoming at West Virginia State University is unlike any other…it’s a time to reconnect and reminisce with old friends as well as stay connected with the “place we love so dear.” If you have not returned to campus recently, it is truly a must see. The positive growth is remarkable and although there have been many changes to the campus, the traditions of State remain ever close to our hearts.
As you scan the events schedule and decide which activities you plan to attend, please be sure to leave time in your schedule to tour the beautiful campus and its many new facilities. We hope you join us for our alumni dinner and silent auction, awards banquet, dances, open forums, the traditional Homecoming parade, football game and all other activities this weekend has to offer. There is truly something for everyone during Homecoming at State. Last, but certainly not least, I encourage you to support our students by joining the National Alumni Association or making a gift to the WVSU Foundation. Your participation is important to the success of our university and our students, and we thank you for the many ways you support State. West Virginia State University is special to all of us, and I hope you will take the time during Homecoming to interact and share with our students what State means to you and how this fine institution has helped shape your life.
I look forward to seeing you and your family in September! Go State!
