The West Virginia State University Baseball Team’s conference championship win last spring was an historic occasion for two reasons. First, it made WVSU the first champions of the new Mountain East Conference, but even more importantly for Yellow Jacket fans, players and former players, it marked the final game of Cal Bailey’s storied coaching career. Now, it’s time to celebrate Coach Bailey’s legacy at WVSU, and we invite you to participate in two ways.First, mark your calendar for Saturday, February 7, 2015, for a tribute to Coach Bailey’s distinguished career as an athlete and coach. This will be done the way Coach likes it—friendly, informal, and fun. Please join us for a reception from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Wilson University Union.Second, we invite you to join us in ensuring that Coach Bailey’s legacy lives on at State by helping realize one of his long-held dreams—to leave a fund of at least $100,000 for support of the Baseball program. We’d like to take it a step further and launch “The Bullpen”: Friends of Yellow Jacket Baseball. Please consider being a charter member of “The Bullpen” by contributing at one of the suggested levels below. Both of us owe a debt of gratitude to a great coach, and a great man, Cal Bailey, for helping us achieve what we have in life. We know that you and many others feel the same way. Please join us in honoring one of the greatest legends in State history. Make your pledge today, and plan to join us on February 7.
